About Event
Anvil Brothers at the Shady Grove Coffeehouse
The Shady Grove Coffeehouse will kick off its 24th season on Saturday, September 13th with a performance by Richmond's own contemporary bluegrass and Americana group, The Anvil Brothers. The show will also feature special guest Andrea Larson.
The band, comprised of multi-instrumentalists, is known for their progressive acoustic music, which spans genres like folk, country, blues, and rock and roll. The Anvil Brothers will perform a mix of their original songs from their album, Little Stories, as well as new music from their upcoming release. The setlist will also include covers of popular artists like Bob Dylan, Chris Stapleton, and The Beatles.
The full band will be performing, so you can expect to see Aaron Jonas (bass), Dan Gillespie (keyboards, vocals, harmonica), Donnie Durham (banjo, dobro, vocals), Doug Hepler (guitar, mandolin, vocals), and Jim Mohr (mandolin, violin, guitar, vocals).
