Please join us for our second session on Anxious People by Frederic Bachman. It is described as an “endlessly entertaining mood-booster” and who doesn’t need that these days? Starting out at a real estate open house where a failed bank robber takes a group of strangers hostage. Each of them carries a lifetime of grievances, hurts, secrets, and passions that are ready to boil over. And all of them—the bank robber included—desperately crave some sort of rescue. As the authorities and the media surround the premises, these reluctant allies will reveal surprising truths about themselves and set in motion a chain of events so unexpected that even they can hardly explain what happens next.
The story demonstrates the enduring power of friendship, forgiveness, and hope can save us—even in the most anxious of times.
We will break this book into 3 sessions April 22, May 13 and May 27.
