About Group

At Park Slope United Methodist Church, families represent a diversity of ethnicity, race, and composition. Parents, grandparents, children, and other family members in the PSUMC community are encouraged to grow in the Wesleyan tradition of personal and social holiness. This ministry goes beyond Sunday school to offer families opportunities for spiritual formation, social justice, community outreach, and evangelism.

Park Slope United Methodist Church welcomes children K-5th Grade for Sunday school. Families do not need to be church members to participate in this free ministry. Middle and High School students engage in youth activities designed to help them connect with God, neighbor, and self. Sessions are multi-sensory and led by gifted, trained, and background checked teachers.

Throughout the year, we gather in person for times of connection.
Emmy Brett is the children and youth ministry coordinator. She and our pastor, Rev. Melissa are available to families for faith formation and prayer.

Our Sunday worship service at 11am is intergenerational with families and children participating and leading different elements in church on Zoom and church in the sanctuary.Children start in the sanctuary and following the children's message are invited to Sunday school.

We continue to integrate families as worship leaders in church online and in the church building. Children are invited up front (or in front of their zoom camera) for the children’s message.

Family-friendly pews in the sanctuary have extra space for your little ones to remain with you during worship. If you prefer, the nursery is open during the school year for those who would like child care during the service. Caregivers should also feel free to take your child downstairs or to the playground if they need to get the wiggles out.

In these challenging times we look forward to equipping children and families with a sense of resiliency and hope while being justice seekers and change makers.

Sunday school is on Sunday morning during the 11:00 worship service. Please sign up to receive updates about our ministry with families.
