PRAYER STUDY: The Ministry of Intercession with Jack & Susan Hyzak Room: StudentLife Auditorium)
In about 1897, Andrew Murray published his book The Ministry of Intercession. It has become a classic regarding intercessory prayer. Murray focuses on the scripture, “And whatever ye shall ask the Father in my name, that will I do.” He also builds as his foundation that “Christ actually meant prayer to be the great power by which His church should do its work”. The emphasis will be open discussion and sharing from what you read in the chapters. The book is $5 or you can download a free PDF copy.
BIBLE ENGAGEMENT CLASS with Jim Cahill (Room 100)
This class is for anyone who desires to read their Bible more regularly and effectively.
Using resources prepared by Scripture Union we will read ~10-20 verses a day, have weekly reflection/discussion time, and each week we will learn one of the "how to" principles and practices of bible engagement using the book "Bible Engagement Basics" by Lawson W. Murray. The primary emphasis of the class is found in the four engagement essentials found in James 1:19-25: to Read, Reflect, Remember, and Respond to God's Word consistently in our ordinary daily walk with God. All are welcome, new or seasoned Bible readers.
MARRIAGE CLASS: Created For Connection with Dr. Frank & Betsey Cavallo & Pastors Tim & Tina Moen (Room 148)
We will be covering topics such as: God's design for marriage; conflict resolution; and creating and maintaining connection. This cIass is designed for married and engaged couples.
WOMEN'S STUDY: Trust and Courage with Pastor Mary (Room: 145)
Part One: Taken from 1st & 2nd Kings, when hard times come and it seems God is deviating from the plan we may find ourselves seeking our own way and in our own time. We were not made to carry this weight, but so many of us try.
Part Two: From the book of Haggai, as we trust we will walk confidently in our calling despite opposition. It will be God's presence and promises that will give us the courage to press on and trust Him with our story.
CELEBRATE RECOVERY with Jeff & Dina Watson (Room: Upper Level Lobby)
Celebrate Recovery (CR) is an international, Christian twelve-step recovery program aimed at all "hurts, habits, and hang-ups", including but not exclusive to: anxiety; depression; co-dependency; compulsive behaviors; gambling; low self esteem; sex addiction; family dysfunction; drug and alcohol addictions; and eating disorders. And so much more that causes us to feel shame and lose hope. This is a safe place; a place where you can find friends and support, a place where you can find healing, and a place where you can feel comfortable to take the next step toward your complete recovery.
