About Event
When life challenges you in ways you never seen before where do you turn?
The key for every follower of Jesus is to connect with him and listen.
Believe it or not, this isn’t natural for us and most have not been trained to listen and discern the will of God. Our aim for the men’s retreat is to help equip you to listen to God. You will have the opportunity to actively practice this with our brothers and on your own.
We’ve enlisted a trusted disciple-maker friend, Bernie Ritterbush, to help lead us for the weekend. You may know Bernie as the creator of (re)THINK Disciplemaking and founder of the Men’s Ministry Network. Bernie has been serving as a men’s ministry champion for over 40 years. He has heart to help men grow men to spiritual maturity so they can help other do the same.
Our brother, Pastor Joe Bennett, will be headlining the weekend worship. It’s going to be great! We will also have awesome opportunities to experience all that Bur Oak State Park has to offer. Did I mention our annual corn-hole tournament?

More Info About Bernie Ritterbush:
A native Nebraskan, Bernie graduated in PBK from Northwestern University in 1967 and his college sweetheart Ann Oseewaarde in 1968. They have three married children and six grandchildren. Bernie received Christ in 1972, and his wife Ann in 1974. After 13 years of working as an actuary, he joined the staff of the Christian Business Men’s Connection in 1980, which led to their moving to Chattanooga, Tennessee in 1992 to serve on the National Ministry Executive Staff. To follow God in serving pastors and lay leaders in developing effective disciplemaking ministries to men, he left CBMC in 1996 and formed the Men’s Ministry Network, in which Bernie is still active, though “retired” since 2013, with the title Founder and President Emeritus. Throughout Bernie’s career, he has been a initiator of helping men to grow to spiritually, bringing to the Chattanooga area such resources as Men’s Fraternity (2002), Iron Sharpens Iron Conferences (2007), Every Man A Warrior (2015) and BetterMan (2020). Since 2011, as a product of his own journey of following Jesus, Bernie has developed (re)THINK Disciplemaking, a seminar, and now video-series and workbook, that gives believers a paradigm by which to understand how to proactively cooperate with God in growing to spiritual maturity and how to help others do the same.
