BRAVE Recruitment Volunteer Sign-up

BRAVE Recruitment Volunteer Sign-up

Serve at the BRAVE Recruitment event on April 23, 2024 from 6-8pm at our South Oaks Campus.

BRAVE Recruitment events help everyone find their fit and make a difference. Attendees will learn about fostering, adoption, mentoring, and other ways to serve vulnerable kids and families, as well as have an opportunity to meet the organizations and agencies that can help them get started. Dinner is served at the event to all attendees.

There are multiple ways to serve:
Tear-down Volunteers (4) -Tear-down volunteers will be present from 8:00-9:00 pm after the event to help clean up.
Table Decorators (5 groups) -Table decorators commit to decorating a table for a child(ren) in foster care that will be advocated for at the event. Hope Local will provide the volunteer with their child/sibling group’s information at least one week prior to BRAVE and will be in email communication with them prior to then letting them know of things they can be doing to prepare for BRAVE and decorating a table. The table decorator will need to gather supplies (used items from your own home, borrowed from friends, etc; you can also buy things if you’d like) and then come to the church to decorate the table on the day of the event, anytime between 2pm and 5pm. A table and tablecloth will be provided. All tables must be finalized by 5pm. They will need to be back at the church at 8:00pm to tear down their table.
Prayer Advocates (5) -Prayer Advocates will serve during the event by standing at a table that represents a child in foster care who is waiting for their forever family. Volunteers will engage attendees in learning how to pray for the child being advocated for and provide prayer cards for people to take home with them. Prayer Advocates should be comfortable praying with any attendee who would like to pray for the child during the event. The prayer advocate will be provided with information about the child about one week prior to the event so that they can begin praying for the child in advance.
Registration (4) -Registration volunteers need to arrive at the church by 5pm. Hope Local will walk you through how to check-in and register people. Computer savvy-ness is preferred. These volunteers should be able to leave by 6:30pm.
Greeter (4) -Greeters will need to arrive at the church by 5:15 pm. Hope(Local) will direct you regarding where to stand, and you will greet attendees as they arrive and help them feel welcomed. These volunteers should be able to leave by 6:30pm.
Food Server (6) -Food Servers will need to arrive at the church by 5:00pm. A caterer will provide dinner and will instruct the volunteers on their roles in serving food. These volunteers will need to stay longer than greeters/registration as they will also help to pick up after dinner.
Parking (4) - Parking volunteers will need to arrive by 5:15pm and will help direct people as they arrive. Many attendees may not normally attend our church. Usual volunteering on the parking team is preferred. These volunteers should be able to leave by 6:30pm.
